        trust, belief, confidence, faith

I have great belief in his ability to succeed.

I had confidence in my own youth and energy.

A child usually has perfect trust in his mother.

        2.faith后可接that从句; belief后也可接that从句。例如:

Their great driving force is the belief that they are doing right.

I hadn't got enough confidence to go ahead .

Can you trust his account of what happened?

        trust in, trust to

        We trust in God.

        Don't trust to chance.

I will trust him for my life.

正 I will trust him with my life.

正 I will trust my life to him.

I cannot trust my new car for that man.

正 I cannot trust my new car to that man.

正 I cannot trust that man with my new car.

管理”时,可以用trust sb with sth 或trust sth to sb,但不能用trust sb for sth。

He trusted on his friends to get him out of his difficulties.

正 He trusted in his friends to get him out of his difficulties.

        析 表示“相信,信赖”时,可以说trust in sb/sth,但不可以说trust on sb/sth。
